T25 Summer Workout Review!

I finally convinced myself to try out T25! T25 is a Beachbody program that comes with 11 full workouts hosted by Shaun T(creator of Insanity), a resistance band, and a meal plan. The program’s focus is on ab focused cardio and muscle and the entire workout being only 25 minutes but still effective!(For the record I am not a Beachbody coach nor was given a discount.) I am only going to be reviewing the workouts themselves today. This is how Beachbody describes their T25 system,

“Get an hour’s results in just 25 minutes a day. The only thing standing between you and the results you want is time. That’s why trainer Shaun T experimented for the last year to design a program that delivers the same kind of results you’d expect from an hour-long program, in under 30 minutes. The result is FOCUS T25—and the name implies the intent: If you focus your intensity for 25 minutes and you do it 5 days a week, you will get results.”

T25 has two workout phases, Alpha and Betta, Alpha has cardio and muscle workouts but only using bodyweight and not actual weights or resistance bands yet.  Betta is slightly harder focused around core cardio and muscle  but uses dumbbells and a resistance band for the muscle portions.

T25 shocked me in terms of intensity and my results! The workouts were each very, very challenging but easier on your joints than Insanity which I loved. The cardio workouts were non stop moving, you jump right into each moves with no breaks at all keeping your heart rate up the entire time. I loved this because unlike Insanity, which has breaks, I knew that when T25 was over I had my heartrate up and was busting my butt the ENTIRE time. So many workout DVD’s will take so many breaks or not do enough repetitions but every one of these workouts were crazy hard and gave you no time to catch your breath. These cardio workouts were intense but went by much faster than Insanity because after five minutes of hard cardio I knew i’d only have 20 more minutes and i’d be done! (There is a timer on the bottom left hand of the TV counting down.) Most of the moves were compound and Plyometrics, meaning one move was not only cardio but also working multiple other muscles at the same time (and oh you will feel it too!) Compound moves gives you a much greater calorie burn and tones the multiple muscles it is also targeting. These were a few of the compound moves: Squat Burpee, Plank Tap Push-Up, Burpee Half Tuck Jump. These moves are honestly very intense but they will give you results. The muscle workouts were good muscle routines with some cardio moves thrown in between every few sets still focusing on that body part being worked though. This workout is good for men and women wanting to tone up and lose weight at the same time instead of pure cardio or pure muscle.

Overall T25 to me is a perfect, intense workout that flies by and my favorite thing about it is after the workout is over you will feel like you were going at it the whole time and working hard. If 25 minutes isn’t enough for some people it’s easy to combine two for a crazy amazing fat burning workout. The only people these workouts are not made for would be people only wanting to build muscle and senior citizens(I am going to say an average grandma can’t do a squat hook burpee.) If you have any more questions about T25 feel free to email me at [email protected] or look below for common questions i’ve commonly been asked. You need this workout if you are looking for a short, intense workout that really will deliver!

1. Is it easier than Insanity?

Barely which means it is still very intense! These workouts were made to be lower impact but Shaun T found loopholes around that and the moves are still very hard though and still work multiple muscles.

2.How is it different than Insanity?

These workouts are MUCH shorter than Insanity, Insanity workouts are between 40-60 minutes, and T25 does not have the stretching or warm up, it just jumps right into the workout.  T25 has many muscle segments and useds dumbbells or a resistance band for many workouts.

3. Is it worth the money?

T25 is $139.80 on Amazon and I would honestly say it is because i’ve had these workouts for about a month now and because of their intensity and only 25 minutes i’ve already done them about everyday happily. My goals are to be very toned and slim and this system is perfect for me. Fitness and my heart health is very important to me and should be to anyone else so $139 is a very small price, in my opinion, to pay for an effective system that will help you lose weight, be heart healthy, and build lean muscle. Many people will easily pay $25 a month for a gym they visit twice a week but don’t want to invest $139 in a program that is like a personal trainer in your living room. ( Shaun T is a personal trainer and has trained celebs such as Demi Lovato.)

4. Would this be better than a gym membership?

It depends on your goals. For me it is because at the gym I don’t have a personal trainer so Shaun T isn’t there to push me like he does when i’m doing T25. It is much easier for me to do a hard workout in my living room than it is to drive 15 minutes to my gym resulting in me working out more often since its more convenient. For good results is it recommended to workout 5-6 days a week and because of the variety of the t25 workouts, I look forward to working out everyday, the gym is much harder for me to get excited about.

5. Why do you like home workouts such as T25?

Home workouts can be very effective, intense, more convenient because you wont have to drive anywhere, and you have your very own personal trainer in your living room pushing you past your limit. Not only are home workouts effective but I feel that systems like these will save you money because gym memberships can be expensive but once you buy a workout system, you can do it forever. Personal trainers are very expensive but people like them because they will push you and know your goals, giving you workouts based around your goals. Programs like T25 are just that, if your goal is to tone up and get cardio, Shaun T will push you everyday but he won’t charge you $40 an hour for it!
